FAQ

  • WHAT IS  CLASSICAL EDUCATION?
Classical Education is the passing down of wisdom and virtue by equipping students with the tools for learning. This process is accomplished through the rigorous study of the traditional liberal arts and the study of Great Books. The classical approach does not merely pass along information but teaches students how to think well thereby instilling a love and passion for a lifelong pursuit of knowledge.
  • IS PROVIDENCE ACADEMY ACCREDITED?
Providence Academy is a proud member of the Association of Classical Christian Schools. ACCS shares the same core values as Providence Academy and provides the foundational oversight needed to operate a school. Because many of our values are in drastic contrast to government run schools, Providence Academy has chosen not to pursue accreditation from the state.
  • IS PROVIDENCE ACADEMY ASSOCIATED WITH ANY CHURCH?
Providence Academy is an independent school not directly associated with any single congregation or denomination. However, we do value church partnerships and seek to form a coalition of like minded organizations to promote the vision of training young minds for the glory of Christ.
  • WHY DID YOU START PROVIDENCE ACADEMY?
Unfortunately, there are not many Classical Christian Schools in the state of Ohio. Families from the southern suburbs of Cleveland, Ohio interested in Classical Christian education have to drive to the far east side or far west side before finding a school with similar values. Our desire was to bring a quality Christian education to the backyard of families in our area.
  • WHAT HAPPENS AFTER 4TH GRADE?
This year Providence Academy will only serve kindergarten through the fourth grade levels. However, with each passing year we will continue adding additional grade levels until we are a K-12 school.
